Why raw?
The rawness and importance of the materials used : pigments, acrylic gesso, acrylic, chalk, dirt and every
other material and elements that meets the canvas
The rawness of the place or situation where the canvas get’s placed on
The realness of the situation
Why evidence?
The importance of what comes to the surface.
The possible proof trough frottage, other factors and elements of the place, the person and/or any living or not living
thing going over the canvas
The fingerprints, footprints, prints
Evidence
It shows the sacrifice of hard work or of a simple gesture
The testimony of a type of life
It is like an investigation of the moment in that exact place at that exact time
The importance of the moment
We are always so busy working and living for the future , looking at the mistake that we have done in the
past but forgetting sometimes to live in the present
It is about the present
It is about this moment right here
It is about the now
Now that for example you are reading this text and you are simply experiencing something in this
moment inside of you
By reading this text and looking at this painting you are forgetting about what was it…what will be…
but all you are probably asking yourself is what is it?
You are thinking how this painting makes you feel and/or what is your eye catching
What I found out about the Raw Evidence is the reaction that each single canvas creates in its
surroundings
By being put on a different place it creates fear, joy, anger, playfulness or even a platform where people
think could bring them somewhere
What I like about it is the interaction with people, making them feel something, something that they are
maybe not even aware of
It is also about sharing
It is the experience of the moment between me, the people and other living being that I am experiencing that moment
with
Some times they are people I know, strangers, people that step on a canvas and don’t even realize it was
on the floor and that they are part of it
As if in everyday life we don’t pay attention sometimes where we are stepping and/or what’s right in
front of us
As if time is running so fast that we can’t slow down to experience the moment we are getting
Elements and time play also a very big part on the canvases
